Just back from army work overseas. Saddened to read site to close. Please, if possible, Don't end the site ... too valuable a resource and the best available.

With all the great comments about the site and the main reason it was developed means a lot to me. I guess your right there are a lot of people that still use the site. With all the interesting comments I went and had a look at some statistics, surprisingly the site still has 300+ unique people a day accompanied by 2100 page views.

Had completely forgot about this site till I remembered my HMS Repulse/Prince of Wales mission here. Thank goodness as I had not saved it anywhere!

I like the new format, easy to read, and navigate.

In my search here, I found several great skins and missions I had not found at other sites. So I updated & tweaked my mission file and reposted it (deleting the old one)

Understand if you have to move on but, it will be a loss for the Flight sim community.

whatever the future holds for FlightSimFiles, thanks so much for your past efforts.  FSF has been an important part of my IL-2 experience, and I'm very grateful, as are many others I'm sure.

If FSF is to close eventually, it would be wonderful if the database could be preserved, maybe some of the other prominent IL-2 sites might be in a position to help?

In any case, you've done a brilliant job here, thanx again.

i understand your decision well. People are getting lazier constantly. This is a matter of fact which refers not to flightsimfiles alone. I'm sure there are still many interested visitors here downloading all the excellent stuff. But only a handful are rating  files, posting a comment or discussing things in the forums. This all seems
to get an unthankful business for the admin, the skinners and mission builders.     

Nevertheless flightsimfiles is a most valuable  source of skins, missions and campaigns. There is nothing comparable. A lot of time once spent by the creators
for making all these files is worth keeping them available as long as possible -
in my opinion. There's still a lot of interest in the old game, and the new one
increases slowly. Especially CoD is a new chance for flightsimfiles.

So keeping this site alive requires more action and support from those who are interested
in it. Me too.
Thanks for your constant efforts Deano, i'm one of those hoping
this site will live on.

do you still think the site will be closed? I think adding an area for CoD skins is a great thing now that it seems the game is becoming more playable. But skin authors probably want to know about your plans when deciding where to host their skins.

Hello Deano. Alot of online players still visit your site, as it has an array of skins from anything to everything. Even I havnt downloaded everything yet because each time i download something it logs me out. But whatever, I hope you can kep this site going

Too bad if this site disappears. I think there hasn't been much activity because most IL2 players have downloaded so many skins already, that there really isn't much need for new ones. I know I have :)

I had been sort of hoping that you would start supporting files for the successor of IL2: Cliffs of Dover. I have just installed my first skins and could use plenty more. AFAIK there's no central site for CoD skins yet.

Flight Sim Files continues effective and affective collections that I jump in to relieve my high anxiety.  Your download system is the best.  Your site gives

I too am saden by the news, flight sim files imho has the most complete skins for IL-1. I had hoped with cliffs of dover comming to the U.S it would be the spark that skinners would need to work on new skins for the new planes. I wish to thank Dean for the hard work he put into this site over the years, I have enjoyed it alot.

This is unfortunate, it's a very good place for skins. The other places have more difficult download processes.

What a pity, i'd like to say a big thanks though, the sites been a wonderful aid to a brilliant game. I can only commend you for your efforts and thank you for all the endless hours of fun that you've provided!

What bad news. It really caught me in the open. Even after a year, or more, I think, I continue accessing Flight Sim Files on a daily basis, in a steady project of dowloading IL 2 skins, that I need to say, this site has an impressive library.

It's very sad that Flight Sim Files will disappear.

Anyway, do you already decided when you will close the page? I really would like to finish my downloads, at least. If there is a week or so, I can hurry up things over here, and don't lose all this good stuff.

Besides that, thanks for all your effort, and for this outstanding site.
